Tropical Sunrise Passionfruit Orange (Printable View)

A colorful non-alcoholic blend of passionfruit, orange and pineapple creating a layered sunrise in the glass.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Fruit Juices

01 - Passionfruit juice, 1/2 cup (fresh or bottled)
02 - Orange juice, 3/4 cup (freshly squeezed preferred)
03 - Pineapple juice, 1/4 cup

→ Sweetener

04 - Grenadine syrup, 1 tablespoon

→ Garnish & Extras

05 - Ice cubes, as needed
06 - Orange slices, for garnish
07 - Fresh mint sprigs, optional
08 - Passionfruit pulp, optional, for texture

# How To Make It:

01 - Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes to chill and create a cold base for the layered drink.
02 - Measure 1/2 cup passionfruit juice, 3/4 cup orange juice and 1/4 cup pineapple juice. Keep juices separate for controlled layering.
03 - Pour 1/4 cup passionfruit juice into each glass, then add 3/8 cup (6 tablespoons) orange juice to each, followed by 2 tablespoons pineapple juice per glass.
04 - Slowly pour 1/2 tablespoon grenadine (about 1.5 teaspoons) down the inside edge of each glass so the syrup sinks and produces the sunrise layering.
05 - Top each glass with an orange slice and a mint sprig; add a spoonful of passionfruit pulp if desired. Do not stir to preserve the layers.
06 - Serve immediately. If preparing ahead, combine the juices and refrigerate; add ice and grenadine just before serving to maintain the visual effect.

# Best Practices:

01 -
  • The sunrise effect feels like a party trick that never gets old.
  • It’s the most refreshing way to pretend you're on vacation, no matter the season.
02 -
  • I once rushed the grenadine pour and ended up with a muddled pink instead of a sunrise—patience really pays off here.
  • Chilling all the juices before assembly keeps the layers more defined and your ice from melting too quickly.
03 -
  • A bar spoon lets you guide the grenadine gently so it follows the glass instead of splashing.
  • For a tangier edge, a squeeze of lime balances all that sweetness perfectly.
